John and Emma

The 1861 Census shows John Pavely, who was Frederick Saunders Paveley’s father, with his wife and family. Frederick S was born one year later.

At Mill Lane Rayleigh we have John Paveley married to Emma Lodge with her daughter Elizabeth age 9. The children are Peter age 7, George age 5, Hannah age 3, Susan age 2 and Arthur . While Peter is stated to be the eldest, it is believed that there was an elder son John (Perman – from the Susan line).

As with Frederick Paveley we have no record of the John Pavely family in the 1871 and 1881 censuses. John died in about 1878 and is buried in Chelmsford. John was born in Sawbridgeworth in either 1814 or 1818. Emma Lodge was born in Great Waltham Chelmsford, and their marriage was in Chelmsford in 1854.

Peter, George and Hannah Paveley were born in Pleshey, Susan in Great Waltham and Arthur John and Frederick in Rayleigh.
