John James Parvin

John James Parvin, known as Jack, was born in March 1887 in Eccleshall, Bierlow,Yorkshire. The family moved up to motherwell when John James was about two years old.

Although he was brought up almost entirely in Motherwell, the family retained its links with Yorkshire. Jack used to wear a Yorkshire rose and support the cricket. He did however also support Motherwell United football team and took the children.

Following his father he was a carriage builder, and served in the army in WW1 but did not go overseas. He was a member of the Livingstone St Andrews Lodge.

Jack died unexpectedly at the age of fifty two in 1939. The lodge expressed their sympathy. His Mark Jewel is below.
